RoadKing
RoadKing Shocks LLC has developed a 2 5/16" big bore mono tube
shock absorber for class 8 trucks.
RoadKing shocks typically run for 350,000
to 400,000 miles before rebuilding is necessary. RoadKing shocks
have delivered up to double the steer tire mileage over standard
OEM and aftermarket shock absorbers.
Additional benefits include reduced tire
temperatures by up to 30%. Similar performance can also be expected
on the drive axle tires. Saving money in today's trucking environment
is a good thing. Our customers appreciate the fact that RoadKing
truck shocks also offer the ultimate in ride comfort and control.
The competition offers a shock absorber that
was originally designed for passenger cars and light duty pick-up
trucks. RoadKing shock absorbers were designed for heavy trucks.
When you compare the RoadKing shock piston
displacement area to standard OEM and aftermarket truck shocks,
the RoadKing shocks have 280% more piston surface area. The standard
OEM and aftermarket shocks have 1.5 square inches of piston area.
The RoadKing shock has a large 4.2 square inch piston area that
delivers up to 10 times more control force then the competition.
RoadKing big bore shocks develop up to 7,500
pounds of control per wheel and because of the lower internal pressures
they provide a much lower level of ride harshness.
Standard OEM and aftermarket truck replacement
shocks produce approximately 1,500 pounds of control force maximum
and last for 30,000 miles. The RoadKing heavy truck shock produces
up to 7,500 pounds of control force. The huge increase in control
force keeps the truck tire connected to the road surface. This is
where extended tire mileage and cooler tire tempeatures are achieved.
Keeping the truck tire connected to the road surface also greatly
reduces the rough ride on rough road surfaces.
